For The Seventh Year SAP Named Leader in Data Management Solution

SAP Press Release | SAP today announced that it has been positioned by Gartner Inc., the leading provider of research and analysis on the global information technology industry, as a Leader in the Magic Quadrant for Data Management Solutions for Analytics report — where SAP has been positioned as a Leader since 2013.

The evaluation is based on completeness of vision and ability to execute. According to the report, “Gartner defines a data management solution for analytics (DMSA) as a complete software system that supports and manages data in one or many file management systems, most commonly a database or multiple databases.”

“We are convinced that our improvement on the ‘ability to execute’ axis in the Leaders quadrant of Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Data Management Solutions for Analytics report — as compared to the previous year — reflects the success of our customers and the value they create with SAP HANA. It’s the only data management platform with a multimodel database, advanced analytics, machine learning and AI capabilities,” said Gerrit Kazmaier, senior vice president, SAP Database and Data Management and SAP Analytics. “Looking ahead over the next year, we are very focused on making enterprises more intelligent through our proven solutions for analytics and our data management portfolios available on premise and in the cloud.”

To qualify for inclusion in this Magic Quadrant, DMSA vendors must have had to support one or more of the following four use cases Gartner identifies that support analytics: traditional data warehouse, real-time data warehouse, context-independent data warehouse and logical data warehouse.

Asian Paints, a customer-centric Indian multinational paint manufacturer, worked with SAP to build a data platform that could support the rapid pace of growth of its business. The ability to process transactions and analytics on a single platform has allowed the company to equip its sales force with the latest information at their fingertips to better serve the needs of their customers.

“The biggest advantage of SAP HANA for us has been the speed at which we could adopt the platform,” said Harish Lade, vice president of IT, Asian Paints. “In some data pools, we have been able to achieve a reduction in data load times of around 90 percent, and by investing in SAP HANA, we have been able to scale out our IT architecture to support the growth of our business.”

SAP Completes Acquisition of Qualtrics

SAP Press Release | SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) today announced that it has completed its previously announced acquisition of Qualtrics International Inc.

Qualtrics is the global pioneer of the experience management (XM) software category that enables organizations to thrive in today’s experience economy. The combination accelerates the new XM category by combining Qualtrics’ experience data with operational data from SAP software to power the economy. SAP and Qualtrics will offer businesses the means to deliver exceptional customer, employee, product and brand experiences.

Ryan Smith will continue to lead Qualtrics, which will retain its current leadership, personnel, branding and company culture and operate as an entity within the Cloud Business Group at SAP. Qualtrics will continue to maintain dual headquarters in Provo, Utah, and Seattle, Washington.

Transformative Potential of X-Data Combined With O-Data

Experience data (X-data) focuses on obtaining and tapping the value of outside-in customer, employee, product and brand feedback. Combining Qualtrics’ experience data and insights with unparalleled operational data (O-data) from SAP software will enable customers to manage supply chains, networks, employees and core processes better. Together, SAP and Qualtrics will deliver a unique end-to-end experience and operational management system to power the economy.

By tapping into SAP’s more than 413,000 customers and global sales force of around 15,000, Qualtrics will be able to scale rapidly around the world. SAP has a strong track record of accelerating the growth of the innovative companies it acquires, as exemplified by the rapid success of SAP’s recent acquisitions.

Gartner Named SAP As Leader in Sales Performance Management

Gartner Named SAP As Leader in Sales Performance Management

SAP Press Release | SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) today announced that it once again has been recognized as a leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Sales Performance Management.

This is the sixth consecutive year SAP has been recognized as such, and the third consecutive year it has been positioned highest and furthest to the right on the “Ability to Execute” and “Completeness of Vision” axes.

In its latest report, Gartner assessed products of 11 sales performance management (SPM) vendors, including the SAP Sales Cloud solution. The report found, “SAP Sales Cloud has a greater year-over-year increase in net new customer acquisition than the other vendors in this Magic Quadrant.”

Sales performance management software from SAP provides commissions, territory and quota, advanced analytics and AI capabilities. Additional capabilities address IFRS 15 and ASC 606 regulations and incentive compensation products for multilevel marketing, insurance and telecommunications industries.

“The rise of the experience economy makes SPM more important than ever for modern sales teams,” said Giles House, general manager, SAP Sales Cloud, SAP. “Companies need an SPM solution that empowers sales professionals to have a laser focus on the customer experience so they can anticipate customer demands and respond quickly. We believe our leadership position is due to our innovation, our unwavering devotion to our customers and the trust they place in us to flawlessly manage billions of dollars in commissions every year.”

Majority of SAP Retailers Are Prioritizing Cloud Innovations

0

SAP Press Release | SAP SE announced findings from “Emerging Opportunities to Deploy Industry Processes in the Cloud,” a commissioned study conducted by Forrester Consulting on behalf of SAP.

The July 2018 research polled 135 retail decision-makers from nine countries to evaluate their interest in an industry cloud computing strategy. In total, 87 percent of respondents understand the importance of software that integrates across an end-to-end value chain in the cloud.

Leading Retailers Are Writing the Playbook for Transformation

Best-in-class retailers who focus on digital priorities such as customer centricity, digital consumer supply chain, smarter retailer technology and monetization of new customer offers are much further along in their transformation journey than retailers who do not prioritize a similar approach. Some 81 percent of innovative retailers have started or completed their digital transformation, compared to just 55 percent of other companies. Further, innovators plan to continue investing in customer engagement, marketing, sales, commerce, supply chain and merchandising.

“Retailers seeking to better understand and connect with their customers, suppliers and partners are uniquely positioned to take advantage of industry cloud solutions,” said Lori Mitchell-Keller, co-president of SAP Industries. “This study finds that retailers see cloud as a key enabler for their digital priorities and are willing to invest more in the cloud to support business processes like infrastructure, research and development, as well as commerce and sales. Such a shift not only launches retailers on a needed intelligent enterprise journey but also improves business satisfaction.”

Technologies Driving the Transformation

Innovative retailers are currently leveraging a mix of intelligent technologies to help achieve digital transformation goals. Respondents see the Internet of Things (88 percent), real-time analytics (86 percent) and machine learning (84 percent) as their preferred transformation technology, while the overwhelming majority (92 percent) say that moving end-to-end processes or business processes to an industry cloud would have a notable improvement on their ability to digitally transform their whole ecosystem.

Additionally:

  • 97 percent of retail innovators see improved service delivery and effectiveness
  • 93 percent of retail innovators feel they have an improved competitive advantage
  • 93 percent of retail innovators see increased business satisfaction through cloud integration with their ecosystem
  • While retailers are at the forefront of cloud adoption, the industry is still in the early stages of adoption when it comes to moving end-to-end processes to the cloud. As noted in the Forrester study, “Retailers see the benefits [of cloud solutions] but need a better understanding of priority use cases, the elements that make up an industry cloud and how to get started.”

Why Customer Experience is Everything

0

[  Judith Magyar | SAP ] SAP has announced its intent to acquire Qualtrics, but the reason may not be what you think. It’s not because either company needs to make a strategy change. It’s happening because it’s emotionally pleasing, SAP CEO Bill McDermott told customers at the recent SAP Select event in Barcelona.

“We’re acquiring Qualtrics so you can combine your customer’s experience data with SAP’s operational data to transform how you run your business,” he explained to a packed room during his ‘fireside chat.’

“Sometimes you need to make bold moves even if everything is going fine. A big idea is terrifying and exhilarating at the same time. You don’t do it because it’s easy; you do it because it’s hard,” he said, quoting John F. Kennedy on his reason for sending the first man to the moon in 1969. “When you make something better, that’s emotionally pleasing.”

SAP Select is where C-level executives get insight into SAP’s strategy. They like it because they can discuss challenges in executive forums, network with peers and influencers, and find inspiration to improve their impact on societies, economies, and the environment.

For McDermott, it’s an opportunity to remind customers that technology no longer supports the business; it is the business. It’s also an opportunity for him to reiterate his commitment to our customers, and that commitment starts with shaping SAP’s strategy to support and accelerate their vision.

Trust in SAP’s Strategy

“We all know trust is built in drops, but lost in buckets, and right now, there is a breakdown in trust in the world at every level,” he said, mentioning that business leaders and government officials regularly turn to SAP for guidance on dealing with the world’s challenges. He went on to explain SAP’s approach to building trust. “With the right people, systems, processes, and culture, we can deliver consistently, and that’s likely to build trust.”

Back in the nineties, CEOs like GE’s Jack Welsh preached the benefits of a tough management style. But their “my way or the highway” style doesn’t work today. McDermott believes every era needs change, and this era needs purpose-led vision. “Ours is to help you run better,” he told the group. “That’s authentic to what our software does and how we use our brand to improve the economy, society, and the environment.”

McDermott believes that companies that get cozy and comfortable grow old fast. Winners are constantly reaching for the next frontier with forward-thinking strategies. That’s why the Qualtrics acquisition is a win/win for everyone, especially customers.

XO is Not Just Hugs and Kisses
“We’re the Intelligent Enterprise company,” said McDermott. “We’ve got all the operational data in CRM, HR, and ERP. That’s the ‘O’ data that tells you what’s happening. What’s missing is the ‘X’ data that tells you why it’s happening.” That ‘X’ stands for experience, and that’s where Qualtrics comes in.”

“Together, SAP and Qualtrics represent a new paradigm, similar to market-making shifts in personal operating systems, smart devices, and social networks,” McDermott said.

For example, many retailers already know that their customers are willing to pay more for positive experiences. Simply put, making customers happy will be the ultimate driver for loyalty and differentiation. But companies must first be able to see their own business through the eyes of the customer, and then apply artificial intelligent (AI) to provide adaptive and intelligent industry processes to better serve the individual clients.

Treating Employees Like Customers

According to Ryan Smith, founder and CEO of Qualtrics, the real beauty of Qualtrics is that it doesn’t just collect data on customer experience. It’s equally useful for understanding how employees are experiencing your company, something that is a critical factor in today’s millennial world. McDermott agrees 100 percent.

“Your employees have to be your ambassadors. If you don’t care about your people, if your people aren’t inspired to represent your brand, you won’t succeed,” said SAP’s CEO, who has long been a proponent of hiring young people, giving them tough jobs, and letting them surprise you.

Qualtrics provides a live, ongoing feedback loop to ensure that employees are fully committed and aligned behind the company’s products, vision, and brand. And that’s emotionally pleasing.

SAP Named a Leader in Data Preparation by The Forrester Wave

Press Release | SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) today announced it has been named as a Leader in “The Forrester Wave™: Data Preparation Solutions, Q4 2018,”* in its first year of participation in this vendor evaluation report.

Data preparation is the act of processing raw data or disparate sources of data into information that can be used more effectively, and accessed more easily, for various business purposes. It is critical for businesses looking to drive more successful analytics, data migration and master data management initiatives. The SAP Agile Data Preparation application provides users with greater agility to respond to new data sources, business requirements and market opportunities.

According to the report, SAP Agile Data Preparation “serves users of multiple SAP platforms. SAP’s ADP, launched in 2015, is relatively new compared to other evaluated vendors’ data prep solutions. ADP serves SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Data Hub and SAP HANA Data Management Suite and leverages additional applications from the vendor, including SAP Data Quality and Data Services. SAP’s robust list of planned enhancements for ADP focus on embedding machine learning to move its data prep capabilities in the direction of today’s standalone solutions.”

Based on customer feedback to Forrester, the report also states: “Customer references cite the value of ADP’s ‘fully cloud and secure solution’ as well as the ‘easy interface, agility and speed.’”

SAP Agile Data Preparation helps companies:

  • Drive business user collaboration and sharing by empowering business users to instantly improve the value and usefulness of data by discovering, preparing and sharing information without requiring additional help from IT
  • Discover and understand data in a new, agile way by quickly importing multiple data sets from any source with the ability to cleanse, enrich and combine data
  • Enable self-service data curation for better analysis to prepare data sets with a visual, interactive interface that is easy to use and suggests one-click fixes for inaccurate, incomplete and duplicate data
  • Manage multiuser authorizations and history by providing users with authorization rights based on the information they are permitted to access. Users can review actions taken from original data sets that have already been processed, and all action history is recorded so mistakes can be corrected with one click.

What are T-codes

0

In any SAP system, whatever function system performs has a transaction code associated with it. These transaction codes are nothing but a short name of that function or transaction which generally contains letters or numbers. These transaction codes are called t-codes. We enter t-codes in the command area of the SAP system.

Suppose you want to enter another business partner in a system. Instead of going through standard process of navigation i.e SPRO>IMG…. you just put a command BP in the command box. This command, BP is a tcode for Business Partner. It will directly open the Business Partner page.

There are tons of tcodes available to use within SAP syste, I am listing here some important tcodes which are associated with SAP function.

As per my understanding the study material provided by SAP is the best option for any freshers in SAP. The SAP software is like a ocean. It is very hard for anyone to master all the SAP modules. So First you have to select a module, and then go for the best book for that module. Some of the top modules today in SAP are –

SAP  PI
SAP HANA
